California Beaches at it’s core is a directory site – but on steroids. We worked with the site owners to take the massive database of beaches they had developed while traversing the state’s beautiful coast into a site where locals and tourists alike could get great information.
Of course built on WordPress, we integrated with several 3rd party APIs to show interactive maps, weather, photos for every beach. We also developed custom admin tools to make content management even easier by allow the site owners to keep all data in a single Excel/CSV file which, when imported, would update every beach in the database with changes. The admin tool allows for complex associations between various content types to give site users even more local resources on restaurants, hotels and attractions. Geotargeting resources allows us to dynamically show related purely based on the physical locations.
